World War III (WWIII or WW3), also known as the Crisis of 37', was a series of worldwide conflicts that were underway by 2037 and ended in 2038. It involved the vast majority of the world's nations—including all of the great powers— eventually forming two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Covenant forces. Marked by significant events involving the mass death of civilians it resulted in 20 million to over 33 million fatalities; these casualties include the nuclear attacks in the Battle of Hindustan and the nuclear terrorist attack on Washington DC. These deaths make WWIII a clean conflict in relation of its scale.
Although many nations and other factions were in conflict before April 2nd 2037, like Peru-Bolivia and Europe-North Africa; most historians agree that the war evolved to a major global conflict with the Nuclear attack on Washington DC and the subsequent Battle of Korea, when most of the world's countries alleged themselves either with American lead NATO or with Chinese lead TTO.
