The planet was named after the Damara language world for "Paradise"; the name was chosen after the ideal that a new beginning for the humanity must have a name from its origin: Africa. The planet was discovered in 2065 and first explored in 2130, but the terraforming process was begun in 2134 and finished in 2159.

When the planet was first discovered, it has characteristics similar to those of Earth 7 billion years ago; abundant liquid water, with an average temperature of 20ºC.

Due to its early development and the discovery of important deposits of rexium the planet has the most developed extra-solar infrastructure, having 2 space elevators and 5 intercity maglev lines that connects the planet's main cities (they all being in the same continent).
