Hot-Earths are a class of exoplanets whose characteristics are similar to Earth, but which have very high surface temperatures because they orbit so close to their parent star, while Earth orbits at 1 Astronomical Unit from the Sun. On June 5, T.H. 66, the first Hot-Earth was found to be orbiting VY Canis Majoris, and named Persephone, in honor of the Greek goddess of the underworld.
